Donate funds to help us restore and preserve our history.

We have a valuable Moline plough & Cross Case tractor to restore as funds become available, but are concentrating on the Wheatbin roof & the GS wagon. Any assistance of both money & time are always most welcome.

Wheatbin Roof

Close-up of a weathered, corrugated metal roof with rust spots and peeling paint, on a building with a wooden support beam.
View of a rusty, weathered metal roof with some solar panels partially visible on the right side, and some wooden support beams along the top edge.

Restoration of the Wheatbin roof is a major undertaking. In 2024 the south side was almost completed, rust removed, undercoated, painted, new timbers to hold the removable sheets down, and wooden wedges made by the local Men’s Shed to keep the authentic look of the roof. Poles have been treated with tung oil.

GS type Railway Wagon

This 10 ton wagon, built in 1941 and classified by the National Trust in 1998, is in the process of being restored by our volunteers. It was a new bulk cartage design at the time with steel floor, steel side doors and wooden sides and ends.
